jean reno meets a japanese girl - commercial

Image

DJ SAZA - GENERAL LEVY DUBPLATE : BAD ASS

Image
Brand new Dubplate for Tokyo electro/drum n bass dj Saza.
DJ SAZA (JUMPJUMPTOKYO) X GENERAL LEVY.
The unfamous *BAD ASS*, jungle drum n bass anthem from Micky Finn and Aphrodite !!!

DUBPLATE DEFINITION :

A dubplate is an acetate disc – usually 10 inches in diameter – used in mastering studios for quality control and test recordings before proceeding with the final master, and subsequent pressing of the record to be mass-produced on vinyl. The "dub" in dubplate is an allusion to the plate's use in "dubbing" or "doubling" the original version of a track. The name dubplate also refers to an exclusive, 'one-off' acetate disc recording pioneered by reggae sound systems but also used by drum and bass and other electronic music producers, DJs and sound systems.

These dubplates will often be either unreleased recordings (which may or may not end up being made available to the general public) or exclusive versions or remixes of existing r…

french street art artist JR @TOKYO - video

Image
JR :

Like a slicker, feelgood version of Banksy, TED-approved street artist JR uses entire neighbourhoods – from Brazilian favelas to the Israeli West Bank barrier – as a canvas for his photographs. Already featured in last year's Turning Around exhibition at the Watari-Um, he's now the suspect of a larger solo show that provides a chronological overview of his entire career to date. Be sure to stop and admire the museum exterior on the way in, decorated with a selection of the 400 portraits that JR recently took in the Tohoku region.

A self-described “photograffeur,” French artist JR’s artwork is based on flyposting giant photographic images in public spaces to offer a form of social commentary. In “Portrait of a Generation” (2006), he brought attention to the community in Montfermeil, France, by flyposting portraits of teens and young adults, a generation that was too often unfairly associated with the 2005 riots. His 2008 “Women are Heroes” paid tribute to the local …

Tokyo Gore Police - Wrist Cutter G commercial

Image
Fake commercial featured in the subway scene of Toky Gore Police (Tôkyô zankoku keisatsu). I loved it so much I decided to put it here. I am fully and utterly enamored in the way it is presented, the contrast of promoting suicide with the backdrop of happy-go-lucky funtime japanese schoolgirls (I know that came out weird, but you know what I mean).

DJ SAZA (Jumpjump tokyo) - General levy duplate : incredible

Image
Brand new Dubplate for Tokyo electro/drum n bass dj Saza.
DJ SAZA (JUMPJUMPTOKYO) X GENERAL LEVY.
The unfamous *Incredible*, ragga jungle anthem from M Beat and General Levy in 1994 !!!

GENERAL LEVY Biography :

General Levy's first major releases were with the independent record label, Fashion Records, who signed a distribution deal with London Records for the re-releases of the tracks he had recorded. He had earlier releases with the record producers Lloydy Crucial and Robbo Ranx, but these were mainly tracks that were hits on the underground dance scene. General Levy was ostracised by the UK jungle scene in 1994, due to comments he made relating to his collaboration with M-Beat on "Incredible".

General Levy introduced and popularized the slang word "booyaka" which has been attributed to "the closest sound to a gunshot", but which Levy claims is a salutation in the jungle scene. "Booyaka" was the catch-phrase that the characte…

Billionaire Boys Club @harajuku

Image
Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream are two lines of clothing established by Pharrell Williams and Nigo, founder of clothing label BAPE. The lines consist of T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, knits, denim, suits and shirts; outerwear in leather, down, cotton, and technical fabrics; hats, sneakers, underwear, socks and accessories. The items are produced in very limited quantities and are usually sold for high prices. Contents

In 2005, Pharrell Williams, one half of The Neptunes partnered with Japan's fashion icon Nigo, the founder of A Bathing Ape (BAPE). The two collaborated to create and launch two new premium streetwear brands: Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream. The brand suffered many setbacks after its original conception due to disputes between Williams and Reebok. Reebok was originally set to release the clothing line alongside the Ice Cream sneaker line. Although the sneakers made it, the clothing line was postponed and all projects came to an end in late 2004/early…

Giga Pudding - crazy japanese commercial

Image
Giga Pudding is a dessert creation kit manufactured by the Japanese toy company Takara Tomy first released in 2008. The product itself comes with all the ingredients required, and a large bucket to prepare in and create a twenty serving crème caramel intended to be shared. Giga Pudding became the subject of an internet meme in late 2010 when its song and animation grew to widespread popularity through internet websites. 4chan later popularized it but a number of influential regulars of the site denounced the phenomenon as a "cancer" and disregarded it for its Japanophile Internet content and appeal not only on their own site, but on the Internet in general. Much of the credit for the appeal of the commercial and its memes goes to the Japanese creators of the TV commercial who are as yet unnamed and un-credited on American websites.[citation ne
