This set was recorded live at Devil's Pie on April 24, 2014. A real pleasure to have France's DJ Ghost. He stopped by Wolf & Crane with two crates and laid down a fantastic all vinyl boogie and funk set. Keep an ear and an eye out for this cat!!
Drink booze & shoot the shit out of things, Tokyo style.
Directly in front of me a nicely dressed woman is locking and loading an AK-47. Directly behind me my friends are doing the biggest shots of tequila I’ve ever seen. This is SHOOTING BAR EA – Tokyo’s BB gun shooting range, a place where the menus are chock-full of booze and guns, and pacifism should be left at the door. Hanging on the wall there are Glocks, Sig Sauers, Colts, as well as insane amount of machine guns and sniper rifles. You can shoot them all. There’s even a Samurai Edge, the handgun used in the Resident Evil video games. Sign a bit of paper, choose your weapon, have a beer and shoot stuff. Lovely.
Here’s the delightful Bobak perusing what’s on the menu…
Everyone knows that loose trucks save lives, and even at a time where you can tic-tac your way to Tampa Pro glory, it’s good to see some disciples getting creative with unsecured bushings. Channeling some of Matt Rodriguez’s flowing vibes is Koichiro Uehara, whose part from “LENZII” has just been released. The Magenta Skateboards rider boasts some jaw-dropping sharp cuts, quick ollies and seemingly impossible combinations – like watching a frog leap between lily pads. With tricks from fellow Magenta riders Leo Valls, Jimmy Lannon and Soy Panday also featured, the latest offering from cinematographer Shinpei Ueno is not to be missed. Enjoy the above.

After co-curating last year’s “This Is Not A Toy” exhibition alongside Canadian non-profit Design Exchange, Pharrell Williams is due to make another foray into the world of art galleries in the near future. Taking cues from his new solo LP G I R L, Pharrell will be curating a “G I R L” exhibition in conjunction with Galerie Perrotin. In speaking to French publication Madame Le Figaro, Galerie Perrotin founder Emmanuel Perrotin revealed that the exhibit would fill the gallery’s new Hotel d’Ecquevilly space in Paris with works by 32 artists – 16 of whom are women – including Marina Abramovic, Valérie Belin, Sophie Calle, Tracey Emin, Guerrilla Girls, and Cindy Sherman. Pharrell’s “G I R L,” a nod to female empowerment, is set to premiere May 27 and will be open through June 25.
After covering Swedish artist Karolina Wojcik in Malmo, Sweden, Red Bull Curates Protégés hops over to Japan to visit Toshikazu Nozaka as he prepares his custom cooler for Nubian in Harajuku. Wanting to match perfectly the shops’s eclectic mix of East and West, Nozaka combined silver leaf and acrylics to create a standout piece steeped in the artist’s rich traditional Japanese style.
Upon receiving the finished work, Nubian’s manager Hidenori Kataoka also shared a bit about the space and the inspirations that went into the final design.
To see more of Nozaka’s work, check out his Pen & Paper feature here. Stay tuned for our next video when we visit Los Angeles native MAR and his Canvas Cooler.

Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s much-anticipated the POOL aoyama launched earlier this month, unveiling with it a selection of exclusive items and collaborations with brands like Nike, Beats and more. In these photos taken by Atsushi Fuseya and Kai Hiroyo, we get a look at the interior of the space, which was formerly the indoor swimming pool of a low-rise apartment. Designed by Japanese architect Nobuo Araki, hanging stainless pipes, elevated shelves and floor tables outfit the interior while authentic detailing — such as the well-worn walls and floors from decades of use – have been kept to maintain the pool-like atmosphere. Enjoy the images here and stay tuned for more on the POOL aoyama.
