“Tokoshie no Ai no Heya (Room of Love Forever)” – Yayoi Kusama’s universe photographed by Benjamin Lee”

Benjamin Lee, a photographer who has taken portrait photographs of a number of artists, cultural figures, creators and celebrities all over the world, is having an exhibition of his works that has documented a Japanese contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama, her vigorous creations and passionate expressions for 3 years.

The photographs were taken in Paris, Milan, London, Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo, Osaka and Nagano and they will be shown in a panoramic way in the exhibition space inspired by Kusama’s message “love forever,” which is also featured in the title of the show.

Benjamin Lee Profile:
Studied photography at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Toronto from 1969 to 1972. Established Benjamin Lee Studio in Soho London in 1977. He started taking portrait photographs of Japanese cultural figures including Churyo Sato, whom Lee began photographing since 1989. In 2002, he published his first photography book “Odyssey.” He was the main photographer of making “Kusama Yayoi wo Shiritai (To know more about Yayoi Kusama)” published in 2012. Lee continues to cover “Travel Stories” in various parts of the world and he has a portrait series of 100 world renowned top artists titled “Sozo no Genba (Scenes of Creation),” which is regularly contributed on a Japanese magazine “Pen.”
