WACKO MARIA and Neck Face Hook up for a Graphic-Heavy Collaboration
It’s the second time the two entities have teamed up.

Japanese label WACKO MARIA has teamed up with Los Angeles-based artist Neck Face for a collaboration with a notably graphic-heavy focus. The collection was made to honor MARIA’s flagship store, “Paradise Tokyo,” and is the second time that the artist and the brand have teamed up to work on a project together.

The collection itself consists of stadium jackets, hoodies, T-shirts, camp shirts and incense, all adorned with a variety of graphics that uses WACKO MARIA’s signature “guilty parties” motif alongside Neck Face’s colorful and punchy illustrations.

The collection is available at WACKO MARIA’s flagship store from September 8.

The opening party was insane with Neck Face making designs for everybody, a nice dj played good electro and there ere a lot of fashionable people.

Japanese artist : Tomoo Gokita 五木田智央

Tomoo Gokita's Biography

Tomoo Gokita’s gray-scale paintings depict archetypal figures, such as a pin-up girl or a geisha, with their faces concealed. With a background in graphic design, the Tokyo-based artist was initially inspired to create art by his love of manga and animation. His paintings reflect these pop cultural influences, evoking iconic celebrity headshots and pornographic magazines. Executed with extreme technical precision, his erasure of the face through Neo-expressionistic flourishes or scraping gestures disturbs and adds a humorous element to his compositions.
